Is it ok to walk on if I do cut it? If so, how much should I take off the top? I don't know about the Friskars reel mower but i have a scotts reel mower that i really like. I am having a little trouble adjusting well measuring the correct height. He kept asking He said it was too much. Thanks for the links to the reel mowers! I have one about 2 miles away. I think hay can also sometimes introduce weeds. Good luck and keep us posted!!! I have a tee time early 2morrow am. The lawn is coming in really nice and you may need to mow soon. Now if i look down in there i do see bermuda creeping out across the ground. But the question IS should I reseed the bare spots before feeding the current bermuda with ? You may want to get a soil test done so Andy, Morph and the gang can let you know what needs to get done so that your grass can really take off, I figure that since your here and you took the time and effort to seed yourself that you are getting the sickness most of us have here. I used a mix I got from the John Deer store down the road. As soon as you can get the mower to cut i would cut. Have you read the Bermuda Bible on the forums home page? I had also sprayed the entire lawn with Soil Doctor. Here are some pics after my cut. Augustine, Zoysia, Centipede, Bahia, Paspalum, etc. Does anything look unusual? I an hoping mine turns out a tad darker. Also a small pic of the reel mower. I said i'm just following the Bible. I also did not use a drum to run over the ground after seeding but I did rake after seeding. I like the way it cuts so far. The last picture and most of the others have something growing upward. Here is one. Or is it ok to do both? I think I would fertilize and wait it out another week. ProV1Colt wrote: Other questions ProV1Colt wrote: When to fertilize for the 1st time? Im looking fwd to everyones thoughts! When to fertilize for the 1st time? After that I will pick up a good reel mower. That looks like some kind of weed to me. Thanks guys!!!! Site includes the Internet's best lawn care forum. Yes I did use a fert when I seeded. This will come in Handy. I really think I will return this mower and order the fiskars online. Who is online Users browsing this forum: No registered users and 0 guests.{/INSERTKEYS}{/PARAGRAPH} I went out to the local Home Depot to purchase a reel mower. I measured the grass after cutting and it seems to be at 1. Did you use a starter fertilizer when you seeded? I believe the color is due to the lack of N which I am about to purchase and fert this weekend. I just called The John Deer in Nash and they do not stock the and will only order if I purchase a pallet, or If they have demand for a pallet 40 bags. I really enjoy this site from everything I have read. Your grass looks to be coming up pretty well considering all the rocks you have. I always thought Bermuda grew very small at 1st, but I am getting some tall Bermuda out of this I believe?? I really wanted to purchase the Fiskars reel. Thank you again! Does the taller grass look like bermuda to you? I will feed the grass sun am and get it cut as well. ProV1Colt wrote: Can I use the remaining 2 lbs of seed to reseed later? I may do a forum search, too. Just curious if anyone has any experience with the Silent Cut series of reel mowers. I take it you are a golfer with a handle like that There are several other threads of people seeding bermuda here that you can reference. Quick links. Updated for phpBB3. With bermuda i don't think you are going to have to reseed just feed well and water. I may try to put some Yukon down next summer. I am really nervous about my coverage and color. The rest will happen. Maxthon style by Culprit. If not i think i would put a half app of fertilizer down now again i am unsure about bermuda Please keep up the pictures i really like to fallow along. I haven't been there yet, but seems to cary a lot of different type turf and grass fertilizers. Or is this too little too soon? I dont know if BlackJack looks good below 1" though Anyways.. Here is a review of a reel mower and there are several others here too, just look in the equipment board or search for "reel mower" and I am sure you will find what you are looking for. So I gotta do some on the fly research tonight. I am sure i would cut what you have now i just don't know how high. Other questions When should I begin watering less? I have caught the fever. Maybe start at a Half inch? Can I use the remaining 2 lbs of seed to reseed later?
